We are about to conclude 2020, a year full of changes that directly affected our health and, above all, our economy.
The pandemic derived from COVID-19 devastated the work of many, reduced the salary of others and thousands of people worldwide lost the economic stability they used to have. Given this, they found themselves in the need to get ahead on their own merits with the purpose of reactivating their income little by little.
Relevant data on the economy in the face of the pandemic
According to the June 2020 edition of the World Bank's Global Economic Prospects report , this health emergency would be the worst recession since World War II, and the first time since 1870 that so many economies have experienced a decline in per capita output.
The World Bank affirms that the economic Chile Mobile Number List shock exists and will continue to exist until the pandemic is fully controlled. In Mexico, experts affirm that to reactivate the economy the following lines of action are needed:
Privilege health and life.
Practice solidarity and non-discrimination.
Apply moral economy and productive efficiency.
Act with shared responsibility.
The business sector was and will continue to be essential to reactivate the economy of all of Mexico, since many companies activated their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in different ways. Some had work protocols for their collaborators, others went to the hospitals to donate hot food to medical staff and antibacterial gel, always keeping their objectives clear.
CAFFENIO, a 100% Mexican company with almost 80 years of experience, which day after day assumes its social responsibility and carries out actions beyond a cup of coffee, also contributed to the economic reactivation during this difficult stage.
6 CAFFENIO actions for economic recovery
The pandemic affected micro and small businesses, for example, in the state of Sonora, MyPEs represent 97.4% of businesses, so support and offering options to strengthen local businesses is considered vital.
To reaffirm this commitment, CAFFENIO created an economic reactivation program which aims to comprehensively train, strengthen and promote Micro and Small Entrepreneurs (MSEs), who have been highly affected by the contingency.
This program was organized in alliance with different sectors and was executed in three axes of participation:
Support activities from CAFFENIO.
Participation in alliances with institutions.
Development and articulation of community project.
Next, we tell you the six actions that emerge from these axes:
1. Caffenio Bazaar
Caffenio Bazaar is part of the Support Activities axis from CAFFENIO. This activity aimed to open an additional channel of exposure to Sonoran micro and small businesses within the CAFFENIO Online Store with the aim of supporting the generation of sales.
Through the CAFFENIO online store, it has been possible to generate a free space for more than 65 interested micro-entrepreneurs to exhibit their products or services, thus creating a digital catalog. This bazaar began on May 20, 2020 and will be valid until December 31, 2020. You can still learn and purchase by clicking here.
2. MyPES dissemination campaign
This implementation is part of the Support Activities axis from CAFFENIO and consists of a campaign that aims to facilitate dissemination spaces in allied media, both in multimedia spaces and the press that support the marketing of products and services from local businesses.
The campaign has also served to raise awareness about the importance of promoting the consumption of local products, services and entrepreneurship of hundreds of Sonorans.
3. Series of talks and workshops “Sharing what we know how to do”
This initiative consisted of making alliances with experts and professionals in marketing, finance, accounting and administrative processes.
CAFFENIO organized an agenda of virtual conferences to train and reinforce topics focused on micro and small businesses, since given the uncertainty we have been experiencing for months, it was of utmost importance to reinforce knowledge and the use of new tools for entrepreneurs.
For four weeks, it was possible to broadcast live lectures through the CAFFENIOtv channel on YouTube. The conferences were held from June 16 to July 9, 2020, and are available for consultation at Sharing what we know how to do.
4. Training in biosafety protocols
As a food company, CAFFENIO managed biosafety protocols before the pandemic. For this reason, within the Va por Hermosillo alliance, a training program was developed for micro and small businesses for the design and implementation of the protocols for safe return and biosecurity required to operate in a pandemic environment.
